RULES FOR QUALIFYING TO THE NEW YORK STATE BOYS' GYMNASTICS CHAMPIONSHIPS  

  • 1.      All levels must compete in at least two Qualifying Meets. The Qualifying Meets may be either a Qualifying Invitational or a Local Meet which is on the State Schedule.
  • 2.      The qualifying score must be met in any Local or Qualifying meet.
  • 3.      It is the responsibility of the coaches to make sure that each of his gymnasts has competed in the required number of Local and/or Qualifying Invitational's and has meet the qualifying score in these meets.  Gymnasts who do not meet these requirements will not be allowed to compete in the State Championships.
  • 4.      Coaches may petition gymnasts into the NY State in cases of injury or illness.  Petitions must be sent to the State Director by at least two weeks before the State Championship Meet along with a letter from a doctor and an administrative fee of $35, payable to NYS Men's USA-Gymnastics.
RULES FOR LOCAL MEETS
     
  • 1. Local meets have an entry fee of $35. 
  • 2. It is the responsibility of the host club to arrange for and pay judges, buy awards and abide by all USA-Gymnastics rules and regulations.
  • 3. Participation Ribbons are to be awarded to all gymnasts
  • 4. Individual ribbons or medals are to be given in the All Around only.
  • 5. There are no refunds for meet entries unless the meet is cancelled.
  • 6. The host club must limit entries in order to keep each session under two and a half hours. Clubs that have sessions that run too long may be denied local meets in the future.
  • 7. The host club is responsible for notifying judges, coaches and clubs of the meet schedule and any changes.   
  RULES FOR QUALIFYING INVITATIONALS  
  • 1. Qualifying meets must have an entry fee of under $60 if they are held at the host club If the Qualifying Invitational is held at a rented facility outside of the club, the entry fee may go higher. You must contact the State Director for permission to raise the entry fee. 
  • 2. The host club must pay a $5 per gymnast fee to NY State Gymnastics for each gymnasts who is registered to compete in the qualifying meet.
  • 3. The host club must follow all USA-Gymnastics rules and policies.
  BIDDING FOR LOCAL AND QUALIFYING MEETS  
  • 1.      The meet calendar for the upcoming season will be made in on August 1 and be updated every month on the first of the month.  There will be no additions or changes after November 1. 
  • 2.      To bid for a local or qualifying meets, the host club must contact the State Director before October 15.  It is recommended that host clubs bid as early as possible since bids will be taken on a first come first serve basis.  The State Director will deny bids that conflict with already established meets (are on the same weekend and too close in proximity).
